NFL Draft Sleepers
DE JIHAD WARD (SR. 6-5 298) ILLINOIS
Bench Press: 22 reps
40-Yard Dash: 5.07 sec
Career Stats: 25 games, 104 total tackles, 45 solo tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 3 fumbles forced, 5 fumbles recovered and 3 passes defended.
Notes: Despite a production drop off in 2015, the former Juco standout has the potential to improve at the next level with better coaching. Ward has great effort and prototypical size for an NFL defensive lineman.
RB JOSH FERGUSON (R-SR. 5-9 196) ILLINOIS
Bench Press: 21 reps
40-Yard Dash: 4.48 sec
Career Stats: 47 games, 2586 rushing yards, 5.1 yards per carry, 55 rushing yards per game, 18 rushing touchdowns, 168 receptions, 1507 receiving yards, 32.1 receiving yards per game, 8 receiving touchdowns, 22 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, 381 kick return yards and 18.1 yards per kick return.
Notes: Ferguson is a strong fast runner who’s not afraid to utilize a stiff arm on the edge, but he can also catch the ball consistently. However, he is not much of a power inside rusher and has issues with fumbles.
QB BRANDON DOUGHTY (GR. 6-3 213) WESTERN KENTUCKY
Bench Press: NA
40-Yard Dash: 5.22 sec
Career Stats: 43 games, 68.6 percent completion, 161 QB rating, 12855 passing yards, 299 passing yards per game, 111 passing touchdowns, 34 interceptions, 3 rushing touchdowns, 1 reception, 7 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown.
Notes: As a statistically prolific college quarterback, Doughty's productivity benefited from playing in a spread offense. He is incredibly accurate and can throw on the run, but he has so-so arm strength.
